I’ve had a 1991 Toyota Celica GT4 (ST185) since 2004, it’s been on and off the road depending on free cash and time. At the moment it’s sitting up the drive, suffering from a blown No.3 piston ringland (oops).
The plans for the rebuild include some modified pistons (det-damage reduction mods, combustion chamber volume increase mods). I’ve decided that, just because I can, not because I should, I’m going to try to make it a compound-charged beasty. I’ve 750cc injectors, an Eaton M62 supercharger, the standard CT20b (from the ST205) and a pair of water to air intercoolers. I’ll be making the Eaton a suck-through setup with in-manifold chargecooling, fed as normal by the CT20b through the normal ST185CS chargecooler. I’ve got a vastly over-sized pre-rad and a more capable water pump to try to minimise heat problems. I’ll post more info as it progresses!
